The video of the recent Historical Society program, Creating World-Class Computer Science at Stanford: 60 Years of Innovation, is now available on the Society's Youtube channel. The panelists included Alex Aiken, Don Knuth, Ed Feigenbaum, Nils Nilsson and Mehran Sahami. They discussed Stanford's Computer Science Department within the historical context of higher education, technological innovations, and the Silicon Valley. They also talked about how the department grew from the university’s administrative needs and those of science and engineering research.
