Membership Discount for Stanford Alumni Association Members
Welcome to the Stanford Historical Society (SHS)! We are glad that you are interested in becoming a new SHS member. Your membership dues are important in supporting the mission and activities of the Society.
Founded in 1976 by Stanford faculty, staff, and alumni, the mission of the Society is to foster and support the documentation, study, publication, dissemination, and preservation of the history of Stanford University. It encourages the study and understanding of the ideals of the University's founders and participates in University efforts such as the Founders' Celebration and Stanford's 125th anniversary celebration to recognize the historical significance of University accomplishments.
Membership Benefits
In addition to the satisfaction of supporting the Society's mission and activities, members receive:
- Advance invitations to all SHS events
- Exclusive access to members-only events, and to the annual members' reception
- Three mailed copies of Sandstone & Tile each year
- Recognition as a donor to SHS & Stanford University
Membership is for one year and we appreciate membership subscriptions at any level. For a limited time, SAA members will also enjoy a 10% discount when giving SHS gift memberships to their family and friends. SHS is part of Stanford University, a 501(c)(3) organization. The membership dues are considered gifts to Stanford University and are tax-deductible. Stanford’s federal tax ID number is 94-1156365.
To introduce Stanford alumni to all the above benefits, a special introductory price has been established for new SHS memberships for those who are existing members of the Stanford Alumni Association. This discount is a one-time benefit for SAA members, or their family and friends, who are not current SHS members and is not applicable to SHS annual membership renewals. Please have your SAA membership number available to participate in this offer.

- Include your SAA membership number under "Special instructions" if possible.
- Then click on the "Stanford Account" button to continue. If you do not have a Stanford Account, you can either follow that link to create an account or click the "Continue as Guest" button to complete your credit card transaction.
